Customer experience Costco has the "unique opportunity to drill into the buying habits of their individual members," Morningstar retail analyst Noah Rohr told CNBC in an interview. Rohr believes that generative AI advancements could be as simple as making promotional emails more relevant to each individual member. The retailer utilizing its large customer data sets is "a big advantage when it comes to inventory planning," Morningstar's Rohr said. Rohr said Costco can also optimize its data with AI by making sure store employees are using their time efficiently.

FRANKFURT, April 26 (Reuters) - Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE) is undertaking its biggest management shake-up since 2019, the German bank said on Wednesday as it announced the departure of Christiana Riley, who oversaw its U.S. operations. "It is time to focus the management board on the next phase of the bank's growth strategy, which is now more than ever about sustainable profitability, efficiency and effective controls," Wynaendts said. Riley was one of two women on Deutsche's 10-member board, which will now only consist of only nine people - eight men and one woman - in what Deutsche said would be a "leaner" team. Claudio de Sanctis, a Deutsche veteran who has overseen wealth management, will join the board to oversee the retail bank, Deutsche said. And Chief Financial Officer James von Moltke will take on oversight of asset management, which includes its DWS fund management business.

Germany's largest bank, which is due to present first-quarter results on April 27, declined to comment on the plans. Deutsche Chief Executive Christian Sewing said in February that he could not rule out job cuts. The bank completed its transformation phase at the end of 2022 with an improved cost-to-income ratio, but Sewing still needs to reduce costs.
